The Beach Bulletin, Vol. 1: New Year, New MindsetBy Kristina Pellitteri
Winter break is always a nice time to take a step back, give your body rest and mentally prepare for the upcoming season. One thing is certain; this team is excited to be back together working towards our end goal – a National Championship.

Although the road to the National Championship started back in August of 2015, the Florida State Beach Volleyball team believes the New Year brought an even stronger mindset to take us all the way. Last spring, we left the National Championships feeling dissatisfied.  This year, we welcome our new Head Coach Brooke Niles, along with Assistant Coach Hector Gutierrez and Volunteer Assistant Traci Weamer. This new coaching staff has been an awesome addition to our program and we are working hard every day to win it all this year.
On January 6th, we kicked off the semester with our annual welcome back team meeting. Coach Brooke addressed our new practice routine, reviewed our team goals and got us pumped for our season to start! The start of the spring semester also meant the addition of a few members to the team as we welcomed Devan Hultquist, Katie Horton, Hailey Luke, and Cecilie Woie to our beach family.
As a senior, going through my last semester at FSU, I feel extremely motivated to chase that National Championship title. You never fully realize just how fast your four years fly by until you actually sit down at your last welcome back meeting. With such great teammates by my side, and our amazing coaches, I feel as though we are going to achieve great success on the sand this year.

As a collective group, we know that the road to the National Championship is not going to be easy, but we are a strong, dedicated and hungry for the upcoming season. We are confident that this will be our year!
