Hyden, Bourne win men's title; Walsh Jennings, Ross take women's

John Hyden, 41, and his youthful, braces-wearing teammate, Tri Bourne, played two matches within five hours and still managed to thwart the efforts of the most physically-gifted team in pro beach volleyball.
The combined efforts of Hyden and Bourne earned the elder statesman his 23rd domestic tournament title and the 25-year-old his first when they defeated Phil Dalhausser and Sean Rosenthal, 21-15, 21-18, in the title match of the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Milwaukee Open at Bradford Beach on Sunday.
Hyden and Bourne had to regroup quickly after their semifinal win earlier in the day and did so with huge kills by Bourne and brutal cross-court slices by Hyden. But most importantly, they managed the serves of Dalhausser and Rosenthal, which had won all three previous matches between these two teams.
